Ileostomy Teddy

I know you are all too polite to say but there seems to be some curiosity about The Bag. Steph and John suggested doing an abstract of my new appendage and covering (Chris Ofili's work springs to mind). Meanwhile Shell's Shelly Teddy agreed to show her stoma (part of the small colon) and model a bag.

And fully dressed no one would ever know! Actually that's not strictly true - there's quite a lot of rustling.

  1. Hi Di - Jo Richardson here. Just wanted to wish you the very, very best on your road to recovery, and also to say how brilliant and witty your blog is. :-) The pictures of Ileostomy Teddy should be available in every hospital in the country ... very instructive! I just hope Ted gave his full consent .. his eyes look a little surprised. :-} Take good care and all the best for 2011. :-) Jo x

  2. You're right -Ted does look at little shocked at the invasion of privacy. There is a slight smile but my camera work is not as good as Shell's. Thanks for checking the blog and hope you've survived the Big Conversation!

  3. Is Teddy quite large? Or is the bag quite small?

  4. Teddy is about 2 ft high so she's borrowing one of my more discreet bags. I've just discovered a whole new world of shopping - bag covers (look a little more attractive than American tan plastic and minimise rustling!) Must find something gorgeous for Teddy if not for me!
